The collection is of late 19th and early 20th century papers and memorabilia belonging to three generations of the Bellamy family of Dorchester (Boston, Mass.). ²b Included in the collection are personal and professional correspondence, business ledgers, surveyor's notebooks, maps, bills, receipts, household accounts, school notebooks, muniments, a diary, invitations and printed material.

The collection consists primarily of the papers of Robert Bayard Bellamy (1879-1962), a civil engineer and surveyor who held several positions with the WPA during the Depression years. Also included are papers of his father William Bellamy (1846-1940), a Boston shop-keeper and author who spent the last twenty years of his life in France; of his father-in-law, John Norris McClintock (1846-1940), a civil engineer and inventor of a water and sewage filtration system; and of their families. ...
